Everything I Packed for a Week in Cabo

cabo travel guide packing list

I love packing for warm weather travels. There’s always a bit more color and delicate fabrics like linen and silk, everything is less bulky and you can always pack a little bit more to play around with. Most of the time I travel I tend to focus on an assortment of clothes, shoes and accessories that I can wear different ways, but this trip I decided to have more fun and intentionally put together different outfits for each dinner. What can I say I was excited to wear my summer clothes and wanted to maximize our time there!

Unlike past packing lists where I highlight a few key pieces, this time I decided to run through the whole thing. Full disclosure this is probably 25% more than I could have packed. I certainly could have cut down on dinner outfits, mixed and matched more, and re-worn outfits, but like I said, I was excited to get dressed for something other than cold rain!

Evening

SIR the label black long-sleeve maxi dress – definitely one of the most comfortable and flattering dresses I own (and currently on sale!).

Réalisation Par Gia animal print dress – bought this last year at the end of summer so I was excited to wear it this trip. A few things to note, it is paper thin, like tissue paper thin, and unlined. It provides zero warmth and is semi see-through. On the plus side it’s 100% silk and cut on the bias so it has a nice drape to it. While I love the print and don’t have anything like it, I would not recommend buying this full-price (I got it 25% off during a sale) if at all. It feels wildly over-priced for what it is.

Black silk pants with white House of Dagmar strapless top – I love a strapless top with wide leg pants that have a lovely drape to them. My pants are very old Vince, but these Reformation one’s are almost identical.

RAEY silk pants with Totême strapless top – same outfit formula, different pieces. I love these two pieces paired together! I say this all the time, but I absolutely fell in love with this top when I saw it – truly one of those unique pieces. It’s been marked down everywhere so sizing is spotty, but it’s still floating around. Also comes in off-white.

Cult Gaia brown Cameron knit dress – (spotted a medium on The Real Real) a vacation purchase from a few years ago that I always reach for when I’m going some place warm or beachy.

Daytime

Matching white pant and shirt set – I always love to pack a matching set for warm weather trips because they can be worn together or as separates, as a beach cover-up or out and about.

Heavy crochet pants – I absolutely love crochet of all kinds for summer and vacation. Will definitely be investing in more this year! These pants are a bit heavier than other crochet pants which makes them great for chillier temps, but not so great for optimizing suitcase space. These Diish pants are a great alternative!

ASCENO linen shirt – one thing that’s always in my suitcase for warm weather trips.

Navy and white striped cotton sweater – mine is from the Claire Rose x NA-KD collaboration, but this splurge and this save are both great alternatives.

Leset pointelle maxi skirt – another sale find (and still currently on sale for $66!!!) that I love wearing with a bathing suit.

AGOLDE jean shorts – always throw a pair of jean shorts in my suitcase if there’s room.

Reformation Mason pants – the perfect warm-weather trouser imo. (Also available in petites which I went with.) I wore these with a tank top and a sweater when it was a bit overcast (and chilly in my mind) and we decided to stroll around San Jose del Cabo.

Totême tank top – another item I never travel without in the summer. Pairs with everything and is so flattering. It’s a bit pricier than other tank tops, but both of mine have held up so well over the years.

Jenni Kayne boyfriend cardigan – my latest knitwear obsession and a refreshing addition to my generally oversized knit collection. I wore this practically every night due to the cooler temps. I have yet to find an outfit that it doesn’t compliment perfectly. (SRP15 gets you 15% off your order)

Off-white Levi’s 70’s slim fit jeans – these fit me like a glove and I love the color (similar option here as sizing is spotty). I wore these on the plane thinking that that they would be a good option if it was extra chilly one night.

Mate The Label off-white sweatshirt – another just in case item and something to wear to the gym in the morning. I also wore this while traveling layered over my Mercer top to avoid packing a jacket.

Jenni Kayne striped Mercer top – I’ve had this for two years and absolutely love it. It’s super lightweight, but 100% merino wool so it provides just the right about of warmth during the shoulder seasons.

Swimsuits – I brought 3 different swimsuits – a black bikini (Form & Fold top and Monday Swimwear Riviera bottom), a brown Hunza G one piece, and a white Monday Swimwear bikini that has sadly been discontinued.

Shoes

Hermés brown Oran sandals – picked these up last year in Paris and haven’t regretted them once. They’re so durable and super easy to wear. Now that I know my size, I can add other colors via second-hand.

The Row white heeled sandal – timeless and elevated without being too much of a heel for a beach vacation.

AMANU Studio black sandals – I have these in black and gold and always travel with them. They also take up very little space in a suitcase!

New Balance 530 sneakers – never travel without a pair of shoes I can workout in. These were also my travel shoe.

Miscellaneous

Set Active leggings and bra – for the occasional workout

Beyond Yoga bike shorts and BRANWYN bra – definitely didn’t need this and the above, but I ended up wearing everything that I brought for workouts.

Mate The Label pajama pants, Lunya sleep shirt, and H is for Love t-shirt – I always try to pack super light on pajamas.

KAYU black clutch (love this alternative) – my “dinner bag” of choice. I also brought a very old Caterina Bertini bag, but tbh I could have done without it.

Demellier Santorini tote – I searched high and low for a woven tote that was sub $350 and wouldn’t crap out on me. One of the reasons I went with this wove/leather tote is because it is made in such a way that the weight of the bag is more evenly distributed placing less tension on the the points where the shoulder straps attach to the bag.

KINN jewelry – my go-to’s these days are the baroque pearl earrings, claudine twist ring and my kennedy herringbone necklace.
