With the holidays in full swing there’s no time like the present to spread some extra holiday cheer at your favorite small businesses. I know it can be hard to pass up deeper discounts and free shipping that often come with bigger retailers, but as a small business owner myself, I can tell you that your dollar goes a looong way at a small business.
Whether it’s a small online brand or your favorite local decor shop, when you support a small business you’re also supporting the people behind it. Often times, for small business owners their business is more than just a business — it’s an extension of who they are as well as their main source of income. Personally, there’s nothing I love more than finding a new brand or local business, reading up on the Founder and their story and building an intimate relationship with their products and business.

Now, some may argue that “shopping small” is exclusively reserved for local businesses and entrepreneurs, which, to a degree I agree with, but there are tons of small businesses online that I also feel are worthy of a dollar, Instagram like, or product review.
