Gift Ideas – For your In-Laws

gift ideas for your in-laws

Perhaps one of the most requested gift guides this year, so much so that it deserved its own post outside of gift ideas for the ladies, for him, and the beauty, wellness and skincare lovers.

Depending on your relationship with your in-laws, gifting your mother or father-in-law can be tricky business!  I always like to lean into their hobbies.  Is she a star baker?  Loves to read? Always the hostess with the mostest?  Maybe he’s avid gardener?  Or a big golfer?  Identify those one or two things that they are always chatting about and find something that will make their experience with it better.

The other area that I often lean into is self-care.  On some level, everyone loves some tlc.  Our family loves gifting each other spa treatments (massages, facials, reflexology etc.).  Whether it’s in the Bay Area or the PNW we have a few places that we all like to visit for some R&R.  Alternatively, you can gift at more at-home spa experience like bath salts, a yummy body butter, or decadent face mask.

Lastly, everyone loves something cozy – especially if they live in a cold climate. You can’t go wrong with wool, cashmere or alpaca gloves, socks, throws, scarves and robes.

Should you still be scratching your head on what to get your in-laws, below are a few more ideas for you!

Cashmere Socks – Like I said, can’t go wrong with something cozy like cashmere socks. I love the 100% cashmere ones from Quince (both for men and women).  Alternatively Garnet Hill has a pair (for men, for women) with a bit of nylon for added durability.

A Cozy Wrap – I have a White + Warren travel wrap as well as a Garnet Hill cashmere wrap and couldn’t recommend them enough. So incredibly versatile, especially when traveling in the winter!

Apple AirTags – such an underrated gift imo.  If they love to travel, then they can slip these in their suitcases to keep track of them while they’re flying.  When they’re at home they can keep track of their keys or any personal items that they use daily.

Marble Catchall – I’ve had a marble tray from Anastasia Home on my wishlist for some time now.  Perfect for those in-laws with a beautifully curated home.

Cuyana Travel Set – I mentioned this Cuyana Travel Set in one of my other gift guides and think they are great gifts for in-laws! Especially if they like to travel or take road trips.  If they are campers or want something more utilitarian, I’d go for a Gravel toiletry bag

Candle – You can never go wrong with a good candle. For something more festive – Jenni Kayne Aspen, Nette Fete or Chai Milk, or good ole Frasier Fir are all winners. For more of an everyday scent – this Marigold and Mint candle (I burned through a small one in a weekend!) is divine or for something more masculine – Nette’s Supernatural is the perfect “manly candle”. Nette also makes mini’s which make great gifts!

Something coffee or tea oriented – Chances are they drink some kind of warm beverage in the morning make it the perfect place to upgrade what they have.  This electric Kettle (we have the black) is not only aesthetically pleasing, but great for pour overs and tea.  A milk frother will significantly upgrade their coffee au lait, and if they’ve been using pre-ground coffee, then a grinder (or handheld one for travel) will take their morning coffee to the next level.

Something wine or liquor oriented – like a corvine, monogram wine bag (I kind of love how chic this leather one is), a non-vacuum wine stopper, wine purifier, or a good bottle of wine or their favorite a liquor.

Shearling Slippers – Keeping with the cozy vibes, I can personally vouch for these shearling slippers.  Use code SRP15 for 15% off your order!

Peak and Valley Adaptogens – for those in-laws that love a good wellness ritual. I love Nourish My Brain

A local ceramic – I’ve always loved how personal ceramics can feel. Find a local artist in your area and pick out something nice for their home!

Fancy Gardening Sheers – part sculptural object, part functional tool.  We got these for my Dad last year (he loves to garden) and they are both beautiful and functional.

Cashmere Beanie and Scarf – I’ve personally been eyeing this scarf and beanie from Jennie Kayne.  Alternatively Chris and I (I think my Dad too) both have these Colorful Standard beanie’s and love them.

Happy gifting!
