I know smoothie season is basically over, but I was craving one when I finished my Sakara Level II Detox. I tend to be a green smoothie kind of gal, but for some reason the day after my reset ended all I wanted was a simple berry smoothie and granola. Inspired by one of the recipes that was in the Sakara transition guide, I whipped up this smoothie with what I had in the fridge.

dairy-free strawberry blueberry smoothie

Berry Blue Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or water*
  • 5-6 strawberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 banana or handful of frozen cauliflower**
  • 4-6 walnut halves
  • 2-3 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 3-4 leaves of kale {optional, but always recommended}

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Enjoy immediately or store in the fridge and drink within 12 hours.

*For a creamier smoothie use almond milk.

**To cut down on sugar opt for frozen cauliflower. If you want a really decadent smoothie, then use a whole banana.
